Meri is a Fulbright Scholar from the country of Georgia, and she is pursuing a master’s degree in education leadership and policy studies, with an emphasis on education policy development and social transformation advocacy at University of Washington.
Ashley Watts receives $2500 Scholarship from Washington State Alpha Delta Kappa.
Ashley will apply the scholarship funds toward the completion of her Masters Program and toward the development of STEM lessons that apply across the curriculum.
Washington State ADK Welcomes Two ITE Scholars
Two International Teacher Education Scholars have been welcomed at the University of Washington to earn advanced degrees in Teacher Education. The Washington State Scholars are Nesrin El-Isa from Austria and Sonchat Srimahachota from Thailand.
Alpha Nu Awards Chapter Scholarship to Tara Preeo
Alpha Nu awarded a $3500 Chapter Scholarship to Tara Preeo, a para educator in Cheney School District. Tara has just completed her undergraduate degree in elementary education, and she will be seeking a position as a Kindergarten teacher in the Fall. Congratulations Tara!
Annual Fund Raiser Sets New Record!
Alpha Nu’s annual Christmas Auction, which is the chapter’s only fund raiser each year, set a new record. The Auction raised $9,450 to support the altruistic efforts of the chapter for this year. This is a record high amount! The chapter members are very pleased with the generosity of those participating in this year’s event, and look forward to utilizing the funds to support the communities of Cheney and Medical Lake.
Alpha Nu Donates $450 to Kindergarten Teachers
First-year kindergarten teachers are very much in need of supplies such as face masks and antibacterial hand soap to help keep our young students safe during the Coronavirus Pandemic. With a donation of $150 to each new kindergarten teacher to purchase supplies, the funds were needed, appreciated, and put to good use.

Bonnie Presnell Receives Golden Sister Award Marking 50 Years of Service
Bonnie Presnell of Alpha Nu Chapter was one of three ADK sisters receiving the prestigious Golden Sister Award at the NE District Council Spring Tea this past April. This award is in recognition of 50 years of service to Alpha Delta Kappa. Congratulations, Bonnie!
Alpha Nu Makes Blankets for Children in Foster Care
Alpha Nu recently completed 34 fleece blankets for Embrace Washington, an organization that supports the boys and girls in our State's Foster Care System. The blankets will be added to the backpacks that are given to the children who will be attending summer camp.
